High School Seniors Can Win $1,000 Scholarships

By Blake Jackson

A new scholarship opportunity is available for high school seniors pursuing careers in agriculture. Ten students will receive $1,000 scholarships to support their education and help shape the future of the agricultural industry.

Supporting Future Agricultural Leaders

This scholarship aims to encourage young individuals passionate about agriculture. It recognizes students dedicated to advancing farming, agribusiness, and rural communities by providing financial assistance for their education.

Eligibility and Application Requirements

To qualify, applicants must be graduating high school seniors enrolling in an accredited college, university, technical school, or short course. They must reside in designated agricultural regions and have a background or strong interest in farming or related fields.

A completed application must include:

  • A fully filled-out scholarship form
  • Most recent high school transcripts (GPA of 3.0 or higher)
  • One letter of recommendation from a non-family mentor, teacher, coach, or employer
  • A digital headshot for publicity purposes

Award Distribution

Scholarships will be awarded to students from specific high schools in Wisconsin, including Cambria-Friesland, Randolph, River Valley, Adams-Friendship, Westfield, and other schools within a 30-mile radius of Friesland. Selection is based on academic performance, leadership, extracurricular activities, and essay responses.

Scholarship Terms

Recipients will receive funds after successfully completing their first semester of college, as confirmed by their transcript. Each student can receive this scholarship only once. The selection committee will review applications and announce winners in April.

Application Deadline

Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2025. For questions or more details, contact Christine Lindner at info@alsum.com or call 920-348-6774.

This scholarship presents an excellent opportunity for students to gain financial support and contribute to the future of agriculture.
