The Central Wisconsin Agri-Business Committee will honor the late-Jerry Lang of Marshfield with its 2021 Friend of Agriculture Award.
The group, which is a part of the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will present the award to Lang's family during its annual Dairyfest breakfast on Friday.
Lang passed away unexpectedly on April 5 while tending to a grass fire. He was an open-class county fair exhibitor for 65 years, a longtime 4-H leader in Wood County, founded the Central Wisconsin State Fair's Dress a Cow contest, and chaperoned dairy kids at the Wisconsin State Fair for many years.
The annual award program recognizes individuals, organizations and businesses in the Marshfield area for their support of the agricultural industry.
