Michels Earns Endorsement of WDA & VDC for Governor

The Wisconsin Dairy Alliance and Venture Dairy Cooperative announced they are supporting Tim Michels as their candidate of choice for Wisconsin governor.

WDA President Cindy Leitner criticized Gov. Tony Evers for implementing billions of dollars in new regulations on farmers, resulting in no new farms created from green space.

"Michels understands that Wisconsin is known as the 'Dairy State' and our dairy farmers work extremely hard to ensure consumers receive nutritious and safe milk, cheese, and butter products throughout the world," Leitner said. "We need a new governor who understands the importance of getting government out of the way of innovation by streamlining regulation and cutting unnecessary red tape."

VDC Executive Director Kim Bremmer also blamed the incumbent governor's policies for making it difficult for farmers to grow.

"Farmers don't have time to constantly play defense at our state agencies," Bremmer said. "We know Tim Michels as governor understands our business, values farmers, and will rein in the out-of-control state agencies. Our farmer members are honored to support a real leader whom they can count on and not hinder them while with unnecessary bureaucracy as they feed the world."

The general election will take place on November 8.
