Experienced ag account professional and seed rep Caleb Miller has joined Meristem Crop Performance Group, LLC (www.MeristemAg.com), one of the fastest-growing crop input suppliers in America. Miller becomes Meristem's account manager and in Wisconsin and eastern Minnesota.
"Caleb Miller is a service-oriented expert at helping farmers get solid crop production results," says Mitch Eviston, Meristem founder and CEO in announcing the hire. "Caleb's crop input and seed background really helps him carry out his passion for serving farmers. We are excited to gain the value of his experience as we continue to add to our all-star team and grow our Meristem business."
Miller grew up near LaCrosse, Wis., where his family had a small hobby farm and his father worked for Winfield. He says watching how his dad worked with farmers from an early age drew him further into agriculture.
"I used to ride along with him when he would have meetings with growers and look at fields – I guess that's when I really began to love agriculture," remembers Miller. "It's very much in my blood now."
After earning a degree in soils and crop science from the University of Wisconsin at Platteville, Miller interned with Allied Cooperative and worked in various agronomic positions there for six years. After that, he was a district sales manager for Jung Seed Genetics, a Bayer regional brand in Wisconsin.
"Helping farmers make good choices that help them become more profitable is part of my personal mission," he says. When long-time friend Izaak Rathke encouraged him to consider working for Meristem, Miller says he was very excited by what he saw in the products and the organization.
"I really like these products," he says. "And these biologicals are the way of the future. I'm eager to show more farmers this new REVLINE HOPPER THROTTLE™. It's easy to use and it's getting some great results; I think will be a great fit for the farmers I work with." Miller says his interest in Meristem was more than the products, though.
"Meristem is built on personal relationships with growers as well as each other on the team – you really get that smaller company feel," he says. "You can tell right away that this group cares about farmers and customer service."
Caleb and his wife Lauren, along with their dogs Gin and Millie, live near New Lisbon, Wis.
