The Master Agriculturist award is given to Wisconsin farmers who have made significant contributions to the agricultural industry and their communities. The award recognizes farmers who have demonstrated outstanding farm management skills, environmental stewardship, and community leadership.
Nominations for the 2024 Master Agriculturist award are now being accepted. To nominate a farmer, you must submit a nomination form and a letter of recommendation. The nomination form can be found on the Wisconsin Agriculturist website.
The deadline to submit nominations is December 5th. The winners of the 2024 Master Agriculturist award will be honored at a ceremony in March 2023. If you know a farmer who deserves to be recognized for their outstanding contributions to agriculture and their community, please nominate them for the 2024 Master Agriculturist award.
Here are some examples of the qualities that the Master Agriculturist award recognizes:
- Outstanding farm management skills, such as crop rotation, soil conservation, and pest management.
- Environmental stewardship, such as using sustainable farming practices and protecting water quality.
- Community leadership, such as serving on agricultural boards or organizations, volunteering their time to help others, or mentoring young farmers.
Join the Celebration
Winners will be carefully selected by a committee of industry leaders. A special event will be held on March 27th at La Sure’s Banquet Hall in Oshkosh, coinciding with the Wisconsin Public Service Farm Show from March 26th to 28th. The March issue of Wisconsin Agriculturist will also feature the honorees. Former winners are welcome to partake in this prestigious event.
