Tomorrow is the final day that the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture will accept nominations for board member positions on the Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board. Open seats this year are in Districts 1, 2 and 7.
Farmers who grow and sell corn in those districts are eligible to nominate or to be nominated.
The Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board is responsible for budget approval and managing nearly $1 million in research, education, and market development money annually.
Nominations are due November 1. DATCP will conduct a mail-in ballot election from December 5 through January 10.
Elected producers will serve for three-year terms beginning in February 2023.
