Other Commodities Were Mostly Higher, Too



The May average price received by farmers for corn in Wisconsin was $5.93 per bushel. According to the latest USDA Agricultural Prices report, that was 78-cents more than the April price and $2.84 above the previous May.

Soybeans were 90-cents higher for the month at $14.70 per bushel, and $6.57 more than last year.

Oat prices averaged $3.43 per bushel--12-cents above the April price and up 20-cents more than May 2020.

All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $164.00 per ton in May, up $16.00 for the month and $2.00 higher for the year. The alfalfa hay price averaged $173.00 per ton, which was also $16.00 higher than April and $10.00 above the previous May. The other hay price averaged $134.00, up $13.00 from the previous month, but $24.00 lower than year-ago levels.
