The average price received by farmers for corn during October in Wisconsin was $5.99 per bushel, according to the latest USDA Agricultural Prices report. That was $1.13 below the September price, but $1.20 above last October.
Soybean prices were 90-cent lower for the month at $13.20 per bushel, but rose $1.40 for the year.
The price of oats averaged $4.47, which was down six-cents from September, but 43-cents more than October 2021.
All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $149.00 per ton in October. This was $5.00 above the September price, but $2.00 below last year. Alfalfa hay prices were $169.00--$8.00 above the previous month and $5.00 over the previous year. The average price received for other hay was $105.00 per ton, which was up $9.00 from the month earlier, but down $5.00 from year-ago levels.
