The Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin says another group of speakers are set to take part in the online Dairy Signal program this week.
On Tuesday, Dr. Jud Heinrichs of Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences, will cover how the calf's rumen develops and present tips to make the weaning transition period more successful.
Ermith Ocampo from Milk Source LLC will join Stacy Jauquet of Hillview Dairy LLC on Wednesday. They will share practical ways to make calf care a top priority on your farm, including calf care techniques, record-keeping systems and working with the entire dairy team.
And on Thursday, Dr. Theresa Ollivett, DVM with the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine will explain how pneumonia is the most common disease in growing calves, especially during the winter months.
All episodes are free and available to the public, accessible from www.pdpw.org. They are streamed live at 12:00 noon or available on demand for later playback.
