PDPW Announces Speakers for Sep 28 - 30 Weekly Dairy Signal

The Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin says another group of speakers are set to take part in the online Dairy Signal program this week.

On Tuesday, Matt Oehmichen of Short Lane Ag Supply in Colby will join David Trimner from Miltrim Farms, Inc. in Athens in talking about the importance of having detailed manure planning and management to avoid issues with water quality, spreading restrictions and more.

Wednesday's episode will feature a panel of graduate researchers from the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Department of Animal & Dairy Sciences, who will talk about research on short- and long-term effects of prenatal and postnatal exposure to heat stress in dairy cattle. They will identify heat-stressed animals to effectively provide heat stress abatement, overcome production losses, and promote animal welfare in the face of rising global temperatures.

And on Thursday, Economist Dan Basse of AgResource Company will present the latest news and analysis of agricultural markets and trends that will impact dairy producers and the ag industry.

All episodes are free and available to the public, accessible from www.pdpw.org. They are streamed live at 12:00 noon or available on demand for later playback.
