The Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin is holding a pair of Herdsperson Workshops next month around the state. The forums will focus on cow care topics, such as transition cow care, obstetrics and calving difficulties.
Two one-day sessions are scheduled for October 18 at Larson Acres in Evansville, October 19 at Heeg Brothers Dairy near Colby. Registration each day will begin at 9:00 a.m., with the program concluding at 4:30 p.m. The workshops will be presented in English with simultaneous Spanish translation and have been approved for continuing education credits through Dairy AdvanCE and by the American Registry of Professional Scientists.
The afternoon breakout sessions will feature three hands-on sessions on obstetrics, cow necropsy, and transition.
