Pork Sessions Offered during Pork & Corn/Soy Expo



Pork producers and industry partners are invited to attend the 2023 Pork & Corn/Soy Expo Feb. 2 and 3 at the Kalahari Resort, Wisconsin Dells. During the Expo, Wisconsin Pork Association (WPA) will be hosting several programs designed to keep pork producers current on industry issues and provide networking opportunities for youth and pork industry members.

The Wisconsin Pork Association annual membership meeting will take place on Feb. 2. The meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Kalahari Resort in the Africa 10 room. The annual meeting allows WPA members the opportunity to provide input on policies and the future direction of the organization. Elections for the WPA board of directors be held during the meeting. WPA scholarship and distinguished service award recipients will also be recognized.

Following the annual meeting, there will be multiple breakout sessions focusing on PRRS, foreign animal disease preparedness, what happens at "hour 73" if a foreign animal disease does strike, plus other agronomic information sessions.

WPA will host their special "Porkapalooza" starting at 6 p.m. in the Africa Foyer. This event is sure to put a smile on your face with exciting entertainment by Wisconsin's NEW Dueling Pianos. Bring your checkbook or credit card because the event will feature WPA's auctions to raise funds for Wisconsin youth and industry issues. Special auction items include a Northwoods Lodge Adventure package, Green Bay Packers tickets & football, Duroc "Kay" print, Vortex Optics Range Finder, Mallards and Timber Rattlers tickets and Wisconsin State Fair ticket package, along with local products baskets, pies, and more.

On Feb. 3, there will be another full day of presentations focusing on mental health, new swine industry research, legislative updates, and a presentation from the Shark Farmer.

Early registration deadline is Jan. 28t Registration either through WPA or the Pork & Corn/Soy expo website is required. You may email wppa@wppa.org to attend only the annual meeting & Porkapalooza, or register for the entire event at www.cornsoyexpo.org.
