Senate Expected to Confirm Romanski as DATCP Secretary

The Wisconsin Legislature is set to begin its next session on Tuesday at the State Capitol in Madison.

Among the items on the agenda in the Senate chamber is the confirmation of four of Gov. Tony Evers' cabinet members, including Randy Romanski as secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection.

Romanski was nominated for the post in November 2019 when Evers' first DATCP cabinet pick Brad Pfaff was rejected by Senate Republicans.

Other cabinet nominees up for consideration include Craig Thompson, Department of Transportation; Missy Hughes, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation; and Dawn Crim, Department of Safety and Professional Services.

Each of the appointees have already won unanimous, bipartisan support at their respective committee levels.
