Sheep and goat producers looking to strengthen or expand their direct-to-consumer marketing efforts will have the opportunity to learn from experienced farmers during an upcoming webinar hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension.
The Small Ruminant Webinar Series will feature a live panel discussion titled “Rooted to the Land, Reaching Toward the Customer” on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. Central Time.
This free Zoom session will bring together innovative livestock producers from Wisconsin and Iowa who have successfully developed markets for lamb, goat, and beef products.
Panelists will share how they sell meat through online platforms, ship products directly to customers, and work with retail meat markets and farmers’ markets. Additional regional marketers may also join the discussion as confirmations are finalized.
Participants will hear practical insights on selecting the right sales channels, meeting legal requirements for online sales and shipping, and building strong customer relationships.
The panel will also cover branding strategies, communicating farm values, and lessons learned while growing and diversifying market outlets.
The webinar is open to current and aspiring producers interested in freezer meat sales or expanding existing operations. Registration is required, and additional information is available through the UW-Madison Extension.
