The Spencer FFA Alumni is creating a new scholarship fund to honor its late advisor, Mark Zimmerman, who passed away on June 29 after a long battle with cancer.
Zimmerman was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls before joining the faculty at Spencer High School in 1992. Under his leadership, the program was consistently ranked as one of the top FFA chapters in the state and nation; and many of its students served as state FFA officers and top award winners on the national level.
Those interested in contributing to the scholarship fund can donate directly at any of the branches of Partners Bank in Marshfield, Stratford or Spencer.
Meanwhile, there will also be a raffle to help kick-off the campaign during the Spencer FFA's annual Fall Harvest Breakfast, which is planned for September 11 at Anderson Electric in Spencer.
