The Dairy Business Innovation Alliance, a partnership between the Center for Dairy Research and Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association, is awarding more than $1 million to dairy farm and processor entrepreneurs with grant money.
This year, 26 dairy entrepreneurs from five states were selected to receive up to $50,000 each in awards from DBIA.
"We are delighted to be able to help our dairy farmers diversify, to assist the growth of farmstead operations and to encourage more value-added products," said CDR Director John Lucey.
Recipients from Wisconsin include Carr Valley Cheese, Cider Farm Brands, Hollands's Family Cheese, Klemish Creamery, Landmark Creamery, Maple Leaf Cheese Co-op, Olala Creamery, Pasture Pride Cheese, Royal Guernsey Creamery, Specialty Cheese Co., Tuls Dairy, and Yodelay Yogurt.
A total of 52 applications we received this year.
