State Potato Growers to Vote in Industry Board Election

The nominations have been turned in for the upcoming Wisconsin Potato Industry Board election. The state's agriculture department announced that seats in Districts 1, 2, and 3 are up for re-election.

Nominees include Eric Schroeder, Antigo, in District 1; James Okray, Stevens Point, District 2; and John Bobeck, Markesan, District 3.

Potato growers in those districts are encouraged to vote in a mail-in ballot election through June 15.

The Wisconsin Potato Industry Board is made up of ten potato growers who have been elected by state potato producers. The Board is responsible for budget approval and managing grower-funded promotion and research money annually. Results of the election will be made public in late-June.
