USDA Posts December Wisconsin Ag Weather Summary



December temperatures at Wisconsin's five major weather stations were all above normal, ranging between 6.6 degrees above normal in Green Bay to 3.3 degrees warmer in Madison.

According the USDA's monthly crop weather report, which is released on the first Tuesday of the month in December, January, February and March, average highs ranged from 32.8 degrees in Eau Claire to 37.9 degrees in Milwaukee, while average lows ranged from 15.4 degrees in Eau Claire to 25.5 degrees in Milwaukee.

Precipitation ranged from 0.36 inches in La Crosse to 2.15 inches in Milwaukee. Madison received the most snowfall out of the major cities with 13.5 inches. Eau Claire received the least, with 3.7 inches of snow for the month. Much of Wisconsin remains covered in snow following storms received in the last days of December.
