The National Corn Growers Association has chosen five Research Ambassadors for the 2021-2022 academic year, including two from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Graduate students Alden Perkins and Dylan Schoemaker are among the selected applicants.
Each of the ambassadors will receive a financial award of $2,500 and up to $750 for registration and travel reimbursement for participation in scientific research conferences.
In its inaugural year, the program's focus is to build a network of future leaders in the agricultural sector; ambassadors must demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential and be involved in research relevant to corn production.
