WALSAA Honors Top Farm & Industry Short Course Students



The Wisconsin Agricultural and Life Sciences Alumni Association at the University of Wisconsin-Madison has announced the Farm and Industry Short Course award recipients for the 2020-2119 school year.

Program coordinators say an Outstanding FISC Student scholarship award of $1,000 went to Steven Roets, Merrill, while Leo Ehlen, Elkhorn; and Jay Woodhouse, La Crosse, earned $500 for their academic achievements.

Ehlen was also the recipient of the Activities and Leadership Award, which is presented to students actively involved in campus organizations and leadership opportunities.

And Academic Excellence recognition was given to the top seven GPAs in the FISC program. Those winners included Roets; Woodhouse; Tyler Bramstedt, Howards Grove; Madalyn Miller-Nielsen, Lake Mills; Casey Schuerman, Fort Atkinson; Rachel Schumann, Barneveld; and Brian Wisowaty, Walworth.

The awards were presented during a recent virtual celebration. FISC is the longest standing program in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at UW-Madison.
