WCGA Seeking Entries for 2022 Corn Yield Contest

The Wisconsin Corn Growers Association wants to recognize top-yielding corn production from farmers in four specific areas of the state once again this year by holding its annual Corn Yield Contest. Program coordinators say entry in the competition is free, but farmers must be members of WCGA and can only submit one entry per member.

Cash prizes will be awarded for each of the winners in the Northern and Southern divisions, along with two specific divisions in Rock and Columbia Counties. First-place winners in each of the categories receive $500, second place is $250 and $100 goes to the third place winner.

At harvest, corn yields must be verified for the contest by either a county agent or a professional agricultural consultant and can be confirmed by using a weigh wagon or truck scale.

A harvest report form must be received by the WCGA office by December 16. A simple one-page entry form is available from the Wisconsin Corn Program Office by calling 262-372-3289.
