The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, announced that 11 agribusinesses will be receiving $110,000 in International Market Access Grants. These funds were made available through the Wisconsin Initiative for Agricultural Exports in the biennial budget.
The grants help support the receiving company's specific export development and deployment strategy. Recipients must be established agribusinesses that are new to exporting or expanding into new markets, operating in Wisconsin, and manufacturing, processing, assembling, or distributing a product that has the potential to be exported.
The grant recipients and their projects include Marathon Ginseng International, Weston; Quatrefoil Skincare, Madison; Hsu's Ginseng Enterprises, Wausau; CH Agricultural Technical, Madison; Associated Milk Producers, Portage; BIO-Nutrition International, Madison; Land O'Lakes, Spencer; Genex Cooperative, Shawano; Saga Furs, Milton; Zimbal Minkery, Sheboygan Falls; and Ever-Green-View Farms, Waldo.
Wisconsin agricultural exports reached an all-time high of $3.96 billion in 2021. Through the Wisconsin Initiative for Agricultural Exports, DATCP is working collaboratively with the WEDC to build on that momentum by promoting Wisconsin agricultural products in the international marketplace.
