Wisconsin Cattlemen Host 2026 Winter Conference in Mauston

By Blake Jackson

Cattle producers from across Wisconsin are encouraged to attend the 2026 Wisconsin Cattlemen’s Association (WCA) Winter Conference and Annual Meeting on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at The Lodge at Mauston. This annual event brings together producers, industry leaders, and partners for a full day of education, policy updates, and networking.

The conference is open to both WCA members and non-members and will feature nationally known rancher, entrepreneur, and agricultural advocate Tucker Brown as the keynote speaker. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by the WCA Annual Meeting at 10:00 a.m.

During the meeting, attendees will receive updates from WCA leadership and hear national policy perspectives from Sigrid Johannes, Senior Director of Government Affairs for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Jordan Lamb, WCA lobbyist with The Welch Group, and WCA President Tressa Lacy.

The centerpiece of the event is Brown’s keynote address, A Real-World Look at Modern Ranching, Advocacy, and Business. A sixth-generation rancher from the historic R.A. Brown Ranch in Throckmorton, Texas, Brown will discuss how effective storytelling, media engagement, and outreach beyond the farm gate can strengthen the beef industry, create new business opportunities, and encourage younger generations to remain involved in agriculture.

A limited number of participants may also register for a private, pre-conference workshop with Brown for an additional fee. Space for this session is limited.

Following lunch, attendees will hear presentations and panel discussions on key issues affecting Wisconsin’s cattle industry, including wildlife management, animal health and nutrition, and emerging agricultural technologies. The day will conclude with a networking reception from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m.

The cost to attend is $40 per person. Additional fees apply for the private workshop. For full details and registration, visit www.wisconsincattlemen.com/winterconference.
