Wisconsin Dairies Honored for Reproduction Success

A number of Wisconsin dairy herds have made the list of honorees for achievements in dairy cattle reproduction this year. The Dairy Cattle Reproduction Council honored the winners of its 2022 awards for reproductive efficiency, fertility and well-implemented management procedures during its annual meeting in Middleton last week.

Among the local farms that earned Platinum recognition were Davis Family Farm of Darlington and Fetzer Farms from Elmwood.

Kieler Farms Inc., Platteville; Maier Farms, Waunakee; and Maly Farms, Bryant, won gold placings, with silver rankings going to Blue Star Dairy Farms, DeForest; and Full Flo Dairy, De Forest.

Those earning bronze ratings from Wisconsin were Holmesville Dairy, Argyle; Riverside Dairy, Reedsville; Ruedinger Farms, Van Dyne; and Scheps Dairy, Almena.

The DCRC created the award program in 2010 to recognize leading dairy producers in areas of reproduction.
