Wisconsin dairy board elects new leaders

The Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin (DFW) has elected a new board of directors and executive committee to lead the organization through the 2025 fiscal year. Janet Clark, from Rosendale, has been re-elected as Board Chair for her third consecutive term.

"I am honored to be re-elected as Board Chair of the Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin," says Janet Clark. "I am committed to continuing our mission of promoting and sustaining Wisconsin's dairy industry. Together with the full board and DFW staff, we will serve as advocates for the attention and respect Wisconsin’s dairy products and dairy farmers deserve."

Joining Clark on the executive committee are:

  • Gail Klinkner, Vice Chair
  • Sandy Madland, Secretary
  • Mark Crave, Treasurer
  • Andrew Christenson, Chair of the Communications Committee
  • Jonathon Hallock, Chair of the Channel Management Committee
  • Kay Zwald, Chair of the Policy/Bylaw Committee
  • Jeff Betley, Chair of the Center for Dairy Research Liaison Committee

The annual election meeting also introduced seven new directors to the board. Carolyn Alsteen, Jessica Pralle-Trimner, Annaliese Wegner, Mitch Kappelman, Jessica Kelley, and Jody Miller were elected to three-year terms. Additionally, Kay Zwald and Dan Hinz were re-elected, and Ali Straschinske was appointed to the board.

"We’re grateful for the time and energy each board member devotes. What we do here matters – a lot – both to the dairy farmers we are privileged to work for and to the reputation and wellbeing of the state that we all call home,” says Chad Vincent, CEO of Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin. “Together, we are committed to advancing the DFW mission."

DFW’s board oversees the organization’s marketing and promotion efforts, sets policies, manages finances, and approves annual budgets on behalf of Wisconsin dairy farmers.

The organization focuses on promoting Wisconsin dairy products, educating consumers about the benefits of dairy, and supporting dairy research.
