The Wisconsin Farm Bureau is inviting applications for four internship opportunities available throughout 2026, offering valuable hands-on experience for students interested in agriculture, communications, leadership, and education.
Wisconsin Agriculture in the Classroom Internship
The Wisconsin Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) program provides educational tools and lesson plans that help K-12 students learn about how food is produced and raised. The initiative integrates agricultural concepts into existing school curricula, promoting a better understanding of the nation’s largest industry.
The Wisconsin Ag in the Classroom Intern will gain experience in nonprofit operations, educational resource design, and volunteer coordination. Responsibilities include developing materials for agricultural literacy programs, managing outreach for the annual Ag in the Classroom Essay Contest, and coordinating AITC’s participation at statewide events. This internship runs from May to August 2026.
Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation Internships
The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation (WFBF), the state’s largest general farm organization, represents farms of all types and sizes. It operates through 61 county Farm Bureaus led by grassroots boards of directors. WFBF is offering three internship positions for the spring and summer of 2026.
- Communications Intern (January-August 2026): This role offers experience in nonprofit communications, social media strategy, content creation, and event coverage. Duties include managing social media channels, producing multimedia campaigns, writing for WFBF publications, and enhancing website SEO.
- Leadership & Programs Intern (May-August 2026): This position focuses on event planning and volunteer coordination. Responsibilities include supporting the Wisconsin FFA Discussion Meet, working with Promotion and Education and Young Farmer & Agriculturist Committees, and assisting with events such as the FFA Farm Forum.
- Gather Wisconsin Intern (January-August 2026): Working with WFBF’s consumer brand, this intern will focus on SEO, digital marketing, and content management for the Gather Wisconsin website and social media platforms.
