As election season approaches, Wisconsin farmers should recognise the vital role played by the Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s Political Action Committee, Volunteers for Agriculture® (VFA), in advocating for the agricultural sector.
With the redistricting of state legislative maps, farmers, farm families, and rural communities face both challenges and opportunities that will influence the state legislature's composition for the next decade.
It is crucial that we capitalise on this moment to ensure that the voices of Wisconsin's agricultural community are heard in the state capital.
State legislators need to grasp the realities of farming life, including the difficulties and rewards of working in agriculture, and understand how their policies can impact farmers.
VFA is leading this advocacy effort, aiming to support farm-friendly legislators and educate new candidates about the agricultural sector.
By endorsing legislators who support agriculture and pushing for policies that offer new opportunities, better infrastructure, and improved financial outcomes for farmers, we can advance the interests of the agricultural community.
Our grassroots network is essential to this effort. Although we may not have the financial clout of major special interests, our collective grassroots strength and member mobilisation can make a significant difference.
As a Wisconsin Farm Bureau member, your involvement is crucial. Participating in the political process and contributing to VFA will be key in shaping the outcome of this pivotal election.
Your support, along with that of your friends, family, and neighbours, will help secure a prosperous future for Wisconsin agriculture.
