The National FFA Organization has announced that six Wisconsin students will compete as Proficiency Award finalists at this year's national convention. Each of the students had their applications advance to national consideration after winning in the same Proficiency Award area at the state level earlier this year.
The winning students include:
** Agricultural Education - Ben McMeeken, Slinger FFA
** Agricultural Processing - Ethan Meissner, Marshfield FFA
** Dairy Production (Placement) - Randall Winch, Fennimore FFA
** Diversified Horticulture - Ashley Warren, Weyauwega-Fremont FFA
** Nursery Operations - Olivia Bramstedt, Howards Grove FFA
** Specialty Animal Production - Ashley Johnson, Weyauwega-Fremont FFA
Another 12 Wisconsin students had their award applications rated gold, with 16 placing at the silver level and three rated as bronze.
Meanwhile, many chapters will be honored during the convention. Programs being recognized as Three-Star Rated Chapters include Badger, Big Foot, Columbus, DeForest, Denmark, Elkhorn, Freedom, Kewaskum, Manawa, Marshall, Slinger, Stanley-Boyd, Thorp, Waupaca, Waupun, and Weyauwega-Fremont.
The National FFA Convention will be held fall in Indianapolis, Indiana.
