Wisconsin pork association internship program


The Wisconsin Pork Association is offering a 10-week summer internship program for college students interested in the swine industry. The intern will serve as the organization's official youth representative and will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including:

  • Visiting commercial and niche swine operations in Wisconsin
  • Assisting with producer program outreach and education activities
  • Coordinating the Hall of Fame program at the Wisconsin State Fair
  • Creating an educational exhibit in the swine barn at the Wisconsin State Fair
  • Participating in the Camp of Champions at the Wisconsin State Fair
  • Assisting in coordinating the Pork Schoppe at the Wisconsin State Fair
  • Assisting in the promotion and coordination of the Pork Schoppe
  • Working on other foodservice, retail, healthcare, youth education, food safety, and communication projects

To be eligible for the internship, students must be enrolled in a college or university, have a vested interest in the swine industry, and have good communication skills.
