Wisconsin Woman Crowned as American Honey Queen

A Milwaukee County native has been selected as the 2021 American Honey Queen. Jennifer Hinkel of Franklin was crowned during the American Beekeeping Federation's national convention last week.

Jennifer is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a focus on marketing, communications, and entrepreneurship. She currently works for the Wisconsin State Fair as the Agriculture Education and Communication Coordinator as well as on her family's pumpkin and Christmas tree farm.

Hinkel is no stranger to the industry. She served as the Wisconsin Honey Queen during the past year. In her new role, she will spend her reign promoting the beekeeping industry throughout the United States in a wide variety of venues.

She is among many Wisconsinites to hold the title of American Honey Queen, including Hannah Sjostrom of Maiden Rock who served the position in 2019.
