WROF Awards Second-Ever Premier Scholarship



Reed Mertens has been selected from over 130 applicants as the second-ever Premier Scholar by the Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation, Inc.

Mertens is a 2021 graduate of Thorp High School. He plans to continue his education at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls for agricultural business.

Upon graduation, Reed plans to return to his family's dairy goat operation in Clark County.

In addition to Mertens' award, Thorp High School will also receive a grant to be applied to a STEM or agricultural project benefiting all students enrolled in the school.
