Walworth Co. Hosting Soil Heath Training This Week
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 10/08/2018

The University of Wisconsin-Extension is hosting a Soil Health Training in Walworth. The October 12 training will be held at C & C Farms from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will overview basic soil health concepts, the economics of soil health, cover crops, and how to promote soil health practices.

In addition, attendees will receive a soil health testing kit and will learn how to measure soil health on their own farms. The training includes a presentation on the impact compaction and crops have on root growth below the surface, a demonstration of how to use their soil health testing kit to compare soil health in different fields and a rainfall simulation.

The training is $30 and includes lunch and a soil health kit. Space is limited and priority will be given to those farming or managing land in and around the 9-Key element watersheds.
