The Wisconsin Pork Association (WPA) Youth Committee is offering Youth Pig Project scholarships to support 4-H and FFA members in Wisconsin. These scholarships, valued at $100 each, are designed to help youth offset the costs of their 2025 swine projects, promoting the development of life skills and career opportunities within the state's pork industry.
The scholarships are available to youth aged 9-19 as of January 1, 2025, with three age divisions: 9-12, 13-15, and 16-19. The WPA aims to award a minimum of 50 scholarships, encouraging as many participants as possible. In order to receive the $100 scholarship, recipients must participate in a 30-minute educational webinar. Those who do not attend the webinar will forfeit their scholarship. Dates for the webinars will be announced at a later time.
The WPA is dedicated to supporting youth development and providing resources that help educate young people about swine production and the opportunities available within the pork industry. Several Wisconsin-based show pig producers and supporters have generously sponsored the Youth Pig Project Scholarships for 2025.
For those interested in purchasing show pigs, the WPA encourages reaching out to the sponsors and breeders listed on their website at wppa.org/youth/sales.
Farmers and businesses who pledge sponsorship will be recognized in WPA press releases and newsletters, have their contact information shared with scholarship applicants, and be featured on the WPA website as sponsors of the Youth Pig Project.
