Field Day on Managing Sandy Soils for Crop Productivity Planned



Farmers interested in managing sandy soils for growing crops can now register for a field day next month near Chippewa Falls. The August 11 program will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Arrowhead Farms.

The event is hosted by the Dave and Andy Johnson families and the Chippewa County Land Conservation and Forest Management Department.

Topics include manure management on sandy soils for crop nutrition and water quality, irrigation equipment, and the role of soil health in maintaining water quality.

There is no charge to attend the event and it is open to the public.
