Wisconsin Students Graduate from Jersey Youth Academy

The American Jersey Cattle Association announced that the 31-member class for its seventh national Jersey Youth Academy has graduated from the program last week. Students were introduced to representatives of key support agencies and allied industry during the course.

Sophie Larson, attending Reedsburg Area High School; Maleah Sickinger, studying at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls; and Emma Vos, Manitowoc Lutheran High School participated in the training from July 11-16 in Columbus, Ohio.

Jersey Youth Academy, first held in 2009, has graduated 223 Jersey youth through seven classes. It is held every two years and provides a unique educational experience to motivate youth of high school and college age to prepare for and succeed in their adult careers in some aspect of the dairy industry, but specifically working with Jersey cattle.

All costs, including round-trip transportation for participants, are paid by the Academy.
