Fire Causes Extensive Damage at Arlington Ag Station

A weekend fire at the University of Wisconsin-Arlington Agriculture Research Station had destroyed a shed that was used to store farm equipment.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Department said multiple crews were sent to the property on Sunday afternoon.

Michael Peters, who serves as the director of the research center, said the structure experienced extensive damage. But no animals or first responders were harmed in the incident.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation and the exact dollar amount of damage has not yet been determined.
