A 21-year-old Eau Claire County man could face jail time and up to $30,000 in fines after being charged with three counts of animal neglect.
Authorities say Devin Malcein's property near Augusta was inspected by humane officers last fall, where they found he was failing to provide proper food and shelter for the animals.
Inspectors discovered loose pigs and seven dead calves that had apparently starved to death. Other animals were found to be severely malnourished.
Malcein is scheduled to appear in court on February 4.
