Custom field workers are encouraged to use a new state rate guide when setting their fees for doing crop work in Wisconsin. The University of Wisconsin-Extension and the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture has released its 2021 Wisconsin Custom Farm Rate Guide, which is updated every three years.
The publication will help custom operators, equipment dealers who rent out machinery, and farmers who perform custom work to set their own rates within a uniform bracket. It lists updated costs for common custom farming operations such as planting, spraying, harvesting and manure application.
Anyone interested in receiving the new guide contact their local UW-Extension office.
