Dairy industry suppliers, marketers and processors joined the online Championship Cheese Auction last week and raised more than $39,000 to support the contest, scholarship programs and educational workshops of the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association.
"The Championship Cheese Auction is always a highlight of CheeseExpo, and this year's virtual event offered a moment of camaraderie and celebration, along with the opportunity to support training for the dairy processing industry's next generation," said WCMA Director John Umhoefer.
The 2021 Championship Cheese Auction featured 10 cheeses, all previous winners of the World or U.S. Championship Cheese Contest.
Additionally, the auction offers supplier partners and processors a chance to thank and support the cheese companies that make the industry famous.
