The average price received by farmers for corn during August in Wisconsin was $6.95 per bushel, according to the latest USDA Agricultural Prices report. This was 16-cents above the July price and 78-cents more than August 2021.
Soybean prices averaged $15.70 per bushel--about 50-cents higher for the month and $1.70 above last year.
The price of oats were down 37-cents from July at $4.69 per bushel, but $1.29 above August 2021.
All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $128.00 per ton in August. This was $4.00 below the July price and $31.00 lower than last August. Alfalfa hay was $141.00, about $3.00 below the previous month and down $31.00 from 2021. The average price received for other hay was $94.00 per ton, a drop of $10.00 from July 2022 and $19.00 lower than August of last year.
