The Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin says another group of speakers are set to take part in the online Dairy Signal program this week.
On Tuesday, State Veterinarian Dr. Darlene Konkle and Assistance State Veterinarian Dr. Elisabeth Patton will join Steve Maddox of Maddox Dairy in California in talking about the risks of bovine tuberculosis re-emerging in the U.S. and how to minimize your herd's risks for introduction and spread of TB.
Scott Fleming and Dr. John Goeser, both of Rock River Lab, Inc. will be Wednesday's featured presenters. They will discuss how weather trends in Wisconsin this summer will affect the quality and quantity of second-crop hay harvesting and corn growth.
And on Thursday, Amber Radatz and Ryan Heiderman of the Discovery Farms program will explain how nitrates can affect groundwater and provide an update on Discovery Farms' nitrogen-use efficiency research project as it relates to fine-tuning crop decisions and how this study weaves into the new DNR regulations.
All episodes are free and available to the public, accessible from www.pdpw.org. They are streamed live at 12:00 noon or available on demand for later playback.
