Calf-raising experts will share the latest research, techniques and ideas during three one-day Calf Care Connection workshops. The events will be held October 26 in Oshkosh, October 27 in Eau Claire, and October 28 in Fennimore. Offered by the Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin, each workshop is a day-long classroom training with hands-on learning labs designed specifically for dairy producers, professional calf feeders and heifer growers.
Workshop presenters include Monica Cramer McConkey, rural mental health specialist and owner of Eyes on the Horizon Consulting, LLC; Dr. Scott Earnest, DVM, livestock veterinarian and dairy consultant at Lodi Veterinary Care; and Dr. Scott Pertzborn, DVM, livestock veterinarian and owner at Lodi Veterinary Care. Wisconsin dairy farmers and calf raisers Laura Raatz, Pam Selz-Pralle and Kathy Brown will also participate in a producer panel discussion each day.
Each of the workshops will be presented in English with simultaneous Spanish translation for all sessions.
The programs will start at 9:30 a.m. and conclude by 4:00 p.m. Calf Care Connection training is being offered to PDPW members of $100. Non-members can register for $225.
