PDPW Planning Dairy Hoof Care Workshops

Three experts on hoof care in dairy cattle will share their expertise and answer questions during three identical forums this summer. The Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin is holding its Hoof Care Workshops on July 20 at Brooks Farms, Waupaca; as well as other out-of-state venues including July 28 at Entwistle Bros. Farm, Frankfort, NY; and August 3, Drumgoon Dairy, Lake Norden, SD.

These one-day interactive workshops will present a case study of each host farm with engaging discussion to identify hoof health issues and practical strategies to address them. Attendees will also identify lameness trends through records and discuss practices that will create continual hoof health improvement.

Speakers include Dr. Gerard Cramer from the University of Minnesota, Karl Burgi, founder of the Save Cows Network, and Roger Olson, dairy account manager for Zinpro Corporation.

Registration costs for Hoof Care Training Sessions are $100 for the first person from a farm, and $75 for additional guests.

For more information or to register, call 800-947-7379 or go to: www.pdpw.org.
