Register Now for 2025 Dairy Cattle Reproduction Council

By Blake Jackson

America’s Dairyland will serve as the host for dairy producers, veterinarians, researchers, and industry professionals during the 2025 Dairy Cattle Reproduction Council (DCRC) Annual Meeting, scheduled for November 11-13.

The event will take place at the Madison Marriott West in Middleton, Wisconsin, and will feature a mix of educational sessions, networking opportunities, and farm tours.

A key highlight of this year’s meeting is a tour showcasing three recognized dairy operations: Maier Farms in Waunakee, Blue Star Dairy in Arlington, and the University of Wisconsin Arlington Agricultural Research Station. Attendees will also enjoy a stop at J. Henry & Sons in Dane for a bourbon tour and tasting.

“The 2025 DCRC Annual Meeting highlights topics that foster reproduction efficiency,” said Program Chair J.P. Martins from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. “This year’s speakers will address some of the latest advancements in dairy farm sustainability and provide practical applications that can be implemented to boost dairy cattle health and reproduction and enhance dairy farm profitability.”

Plenary sessions will feature Peter Hansen of the University of Florida discussing the future of in vitro fertilization, Neil Mellers of Ranch2Retail on beef-on-dairy trends, and Penn State’s Chuck Nicholson examining dairy market economics.

Breakout sessions will cover topics ranging from breeding strategies and culling decisions to monitoring technologies, cow longevity, and reproductive performance.

Presenters include experts from the University of Wisconsin, University of Guelph, Zoetis, Merck Animal Health, and other organizations.

To support producer and veterinarian attendance, DCRC is offering ten $200 travel stipends, awarded on a first-come basis. Interested individuals should contact JoDee Sattler (jodee@dcrcouncil.org).

In addition, DCRC is applying for Registry of Approved Continuing Education (RACE) approval to allow veterinarians to earn continuing education credits.

Registration is available online at https://bit.ly/DCRC2025MtgReg, with discounted rates offered through September 30. Online sign-up closes November 10, with on-site registration available afterward. Hotel accommodation at the group rate of $159 per night (plus taxes) is available until October 20.
