The Wisconsin Cattlemen's Association (WCA) is hosting its annual Winter Conference and Meeting on February 22nd, 2025, at The Lodge at Mauston.

This educational event is open to both members and non-members, offering a chance to learn, network, and connect with industry experts.

Mornings Agenda:

  • Registration opens at 9:00 AM, followed by the WCA Annual Meeting at 9:30 AM.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends with reports from the National Cattlemen's Beef Association and WCA Lobbyist Jordan Lamb.
  • Hear updates and insights from WCA leadership through Board and Committee Reports.

Keynote Address:

Kick-off your conference experience with a motivational speech by Laura Daniels of Hitch Pin Consulting. Her session, "Needed Hitch Pins: Why Connecting Matters," will inspire you to find value in your work, strengthen industry connections, and appreciate the importance of your role in the cattle industry.

Afternoon Sessions:

Choose from two breakout sessions after lunch to gain valuable knowledge tailored to your needs:

  • Aspiring or beginning farmers and ranchers can learn helpful tips and tricks from Kevin Plante of the Wisconsin Farm Center.
  • Established producers can explore long-term planning strategies with Joy Kirkpatrick from the UW-Extension Farm Management Program in the session titled "What's Your Farm's Future? Start Making Your Plan."

Later Sessions:

  • Delve into the connection between cattle feed and consumer preferences with Zeb Gray of Diamond V in "Pasture to Plate: How Feeding Impacts What We Eat."
  • Bill Halfman and Sandy Stuttgen, DVM, from the UW-Extension Division of Livestock will guide you through securing your beef supply in "Defending Your Empire: Secure Beef Supply Planning."
