A former farm reporter who served as Wisconsin's 71st Alice in Dairyland has been chosen to serve as the Wisconsin Beef Council's new director of communications and outreach. Kaitlyn Riley will oversee producer and consumer communications, as well as coordinate Farm to Fork tours and Beef in the Classroom programs.
"We are excited to have Kaitlyn joining our staff to continue the Wisconsin Beef Council mission of building demand for beef," said WBC Director Tammy Vaassen. "She brings a strong agricultural background, and combined with her communications degree and previous efforts to promote Wisconsin agriculture, Kaitlyn's skill set fits well with our programs."
A native of Gays Mills, Riley was raised on her families' 70-cow dairy farm. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communications and Broadcast Journalism.
After serving as Alice in 2018-19, she worked for Mid-West Family in La Crosse as a farm news reporter, new anchor, and morning show co-host.
She began her new role on April 12.
