Local FFA students across the state who advanced from their district speaking competitions in recent weeks will now move to level-two in their quest to become state champions.
The Wisconsin FFA Sectional Level Speaking Competitions will begin this week at the home chapter of each of the state FFA officers.
State FFA Director Cheryl Zimmerman says some of the events will be held in-person, while others will remain virtual.
The top two individuals or teams in each of the seven speaking contests advance to this level. The winning students will then compete at the organization's state convention in July.
Sectional competitions are being held on the following dates:
Section 1: Spooner, April 21 (Virtual)
Section 2: Menomonie, April 26 (In-Person)
Section 3: Tomah, May 5 (In-Person)
Section 4: River Ridge, May 12 (Virtual)
Section 5: Wisconsin Heights, May 4, 5, 6 (Virtual)
Section 6: Mauston, May 10 & 11 (Virtual)
Section 7: Spencer, May 6 (In-Person)
Section 8: Weyauwega-Fremont, April 26 (Virtual)
Section 9: Denmark, May 3 & 4 (Virtual)
Section 10: Big Foot, May 12 (Hybrid)
