State Farm Bureau Leaders to Serve on National Committees



Four board members of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation have been named to various advisory committees on the American Farm Bureau.

Peter Kimball of Baldwin was selected to serve a two-year term on the water committee. That group covers Clean Water Act issues, national and regional water storage programs, Army Corps of Engineers water related efforts and flood control. Kimball is a dairy farmer and is a WFBF Board member.

WFBF Vice President Dave Daniels, Union Grove, will continue to serve his two-year term on the farm policy committee. He and his fellow committee members will discusses risk management, crop insurance, price and income support programs and conservation programs.

Don Radtke from Merrill will also stay in his role on the agricultural labor committee. They will explore topics like guest worker programs, OSHA regulations, employment taxes and health care.

And Robert Nigh of Viroqua was chosen for the animal care committee. That group examines current animal care and animal health standards, antibiotic use and livestock processing.

There are 13 AFBF committees that will meet in conjunction with the Advocacy Conference each year.
