Sustainable Leadership Seminars Guiding Change Effectively


The Wisconsin Farm Bureau and Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center together are hosting a series of seminars on sustainable leadership. The series will explore leadership and sustainability in environmental, social, and economic spaces.

The seminars will be held at the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center in Manitowoc. The first session will be held on September 15, 2023, and the last session will be held on May 17, 2024. Sessions will begin with a continental breakfast at 7:30 AM followed by the presentation from 8-9 AM

The topics that will be covered in the series include:

September 15, 2023 – Sustainable Environment: This session will explore how leaders can use their businesses and organizations to protect the environment. The session will be led by Lauren Brey from Farmers for Sustainable Food and Duane Ducat of Deer Run Dairy.

November 17, 2023 – Sustainable Future: This session will focus on how leaders can create a sustainable workforce and culture in their businesses and organizations. The session will be led by Matt Selvig from Bernatello's Foods and Michelle Shambeau from Ebert Family Businesses.

January 19, 2024 – Sustainable Storytelling: This session will teach leaders how to share their sustainability priorities with their customers. The session will be led by Kaitlyn Riley from the Wisconsin Beef Council.

March 15, 2024 – Sustainable Self: This session will focus on the importance of mental health for leaders and how to take care of oneself and one's team. The session will be led by Brenda Statz from the Farmer Angel Network.

May 17, 2024 – Sustainable Service: This session will explore how leaders can maximize resources with a limited budget and manpower. The session will be led by Courtney Booth from Booth Leadership, LLC.

Each session will feature a presentation from a different expert on the topic. There will also be opportunities for participants to ask questions and network with other leaders in the field.

The Sustainable Leadership Seminar Series is a great opportunity for leaders to learn about sustainability and how it can be applied to their businesses and organizations. The series will also provide leaders with the tools they need to be more effective leaders in a sustainable world.

The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation is the state's largest general farm organization, representing farms of every size, commodity, and management style. Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center is a state-of-the-art, interactive agricultural education center located in Manitowoc County.
