WCMA to Host Online Cheese Contest Celebration in March

The Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association is hosting a virtual celebration of the World and U.S. Championship Cheese Contests next week. The program will be accessible for free and will feature original programming set to stream on its contest website at WorldChampionCheese.org.

"For more than six decades, the World and U.S. Championship Cheese Contests have raised the bar for excellence in dairy processing, and connected our industry's brightest, most creative cheesemakers," said WCHA Director John Umhoefer. "That's worthy of a celebration, and we invite you join us."

On March 2, the group will look back on its traditions and talk about the future of the programs. Umhoefer will also moderate a discussion with Chief Judge Jim Mueller and Contest Chief Judge Emereti Bill Schlinsog and Bob Aschebrock. And judges will also talk about some of their own experiences as they reminisce about their time working with the competitions.

Meanwhile, ten of the world's premiere cheesemakers will be on hand on Wednesday to unveil the line-up for the Championship Cheese Auction, which is slated for April 7 at CheeseExpo Global Online.
